Transformation Shift II
The Grunwald Gallery at Indiana University Bloomington, in conjunction with the Center for Rural Engagement is pleased to present Transformation Shift II at the Brown County Art Gallery. This exhibition features work created by current and former graduate MFA and undergraduate BFA Fine Arts students in the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design at Indiana University.
In an effort to dissolve the exclusivity of abstract art, Transformation Shift II will include abstract paintings with themes ranging from narrative to conceptual accompanied by descriptive statements by each artist. This exhibit is part of the Quality of Place effort by the Center for Rural Engagement at Indiana University.
The exhibit includes work by both established and emerging artists, providing a professional practice experience for the artists. The show will provide access to contemporary art that otherwise might not be readily accessible in this location. This exhibition features work from a variety of areas including: painting, printmaking, photography, digital art, fibers and sculpture.
The artists will give gallery talks about their work at three o’clock during the reception on Sunday, March 8, 2020.
Transformation Shift II features the work of Andy Bullard (MFA Painting), Elke Pessel (MFA Printmaking Alumni), Menika Lue (MFA Painting), Olivia Kalish (BFA Painting), London Heist (BFA Painting Alumni), Wenyan Xu (MFA Painting) and Mollie Hosmer-Dillard (MFA Painting Alumni).
