SUMMARY:Make Art\, Make Friends: Studio Art
DESCRIPTION:Students will learn about the art of still life. Arrange flowers\, plants\, and artifacts. Bring your own from the garden or home and then capture the moment. \nApril 2\, 4\, 9\, 11\, 16\, 18\, 23 & 25 · 10 am – 2 pm (lunch included)\nCost is $20 per monthly session with 8 classes per month \n\nJoin instructor Amanda Mathis for four months of creativity\, learning\, and fellowship for seniors 55 and older. With 8 sessions per month and 4 sessions\, each with a different theme\, there is something for every artist to explore. Enroll in all four months or choose your favorite topics. DESCRIPTION:Waiting for perfect lighting conditions on your subject can put you out for hours if not days. You will be able to create many lighting study iterations of your reference material with a greater level of mastery over your creative process. Then we will take that and turn it into a painting.\nPrepare to take the next step with your work and put your vision onto the canvas. I look forward to seeing you and\nhelping you on your journey to tell your story through paint.\nBring plenty of landscape photo reference material\, printed photos would be great but from your phone or tablet will work as well.\nBy the end of the workshop\, you will have a strong grasp on how light works on form\, different natural and man-made lighting scenarios\, and how to apply them to your reference photos\, multiple lighting studies\, and a small painting from your lighting studies.
