The Brown County Art Gallery has as its mission supporting Indiana artists past, present and future…

Art for the Ages…all ages!

Make Art, Make Friends

The Stevens Art Education Studio is a busy place with our “Make Art, Make Friends” program for creative aging well underway. Generous donors and the Gallery Foundation funds both a creative experience and a chance to make new friends for active seniors and takes activities to the local nursing home.
Stop by and visit any Tuesday through Thursday. The program runs through May.

2026 Annis Student Art Competition

In March the Gallery fills with art created by the youngest generation. Jr and Sr high art students from 7 surrounding counties will exhibit their work and compete for prize money in the annual Mabel B. Annis Student Art Competition.

Over 25 years, this event has grown to one of the largest in the state. Last year their were 280 entries in painting, drawing, printmaking, 3D, photography and video.

This year’s judges are popular Indianapolis artist Israel Solomon and Bloom Magazine photographer Rodney Margison.

Spend a spring break day viewing the work of these up and coming artists. And buy! The work is for sale!
Thanks to the R.B. Annis Educational Foundation, the Mabel B. Annis Trust and Indiana Heritage Arts for supporting this great program.

A Centennial Victorian Tea

As we celebrate the 100th birthday of the Brown County Art Gallery, we have brought back for one year only, the Victorian Tea. This Centennial version is taking reservations and tables are filling fast. In addition to tea and all the trimmings, there will be a special presentation of the original play “Selma and the Painter” starring Broadway actress Jill Tasker and written by author Lyn Letsinger-Miller.

It is the story of Selma Steele, the woman behind Indiana’s Master Artist Theodore Clement Steele.
Call the Gallery for reservations.

As the snow melts and warmer weather is heading our way, the Gallery Art Association will soon be hanging their spring show in March.

Time to shake the winter blues and head to Brown County and visit our beautiful Gallery.

Open Daily, Free Admission and Free Parking.
Keep up with the latest at www.browncountyartgallery.org and on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
