An important original work by Hoosier rock star and artist John Mellencamp is on exhibit at the Brown County Art Gallery.
The painting, titled El Paso, is a depiction of country legend Johnny Cash and his transformation from addiction to creative genius. Vanity Fair magazine called the painting one of 11 museum quality paintings by artist Mellencamp.
A new collection of Mellencamp’s expressionist-style art is on exhibit at the New York Art Academy in conjunction with the release of a new book featuring his artistic career.
El Paso is 48″ x 48″, oil on canvas, signed on the back and is priced at $35,000. An original sale catalogue is included. A portion of the proceeds from this painting benefit the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation.
